Our School Nursery

Our School Nursery provides a nurturing and stimulating environment from the age of two. Our staff are experienced and well qualified in early education and care.

Book a visit and join us.

St Lawrence Nursery is located in a purpose-built accommodation on the school site. Children from 2 – 5 years learn through play in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment which fosters creativity and supports individual needs. Children in our school nursery are encouraged to express themselves and share ideas. We believe in empowering the child to be independent, make decisions and solve problems, establishing key learning behaviours that will enable them to become confident learners as they move through the school.

By offering an engaging curriculum, it is our aspiration that each child will develop a positive outlook and attitude, a healthy appreciation of the world around them and acquire a lifelong love of learning.

Our daily routine is flexible including a balance of child initiated and adult led activities. Every child is allocated a key person who is responsible for settling in each day, and who can help develop self-confidence, early language and social skills.

Children (and parents) love coming into nursery and quickly form strong relationships with everyone on the nursery team. These friendships continue as the child moves into school and beyond!

Children in our nursery benefit from regular ‘Welly Walks’ at Forest School, in Cardingmill Valley or out and about in the local community. Outdoor learning takes place every day and all the children are given a set of waterproofs to use in nursery, so they can explore in any weather.

Last year, we piloted a successful intergenerational project with Ley Gardens in Church Stretton. We hope to resume weekly visits as soon as it is safe to do so.

The best way to find out if our nursery is right for your child is to book a visit. We’d love to meet you and tell you more about what fun we have in nursery.
